FILM Announcement: Braiding Knowledge through Breath, Language, and Movement ~ Trailer

Life Update

I have completed my thesis titled, "Braiding Knowledge through Breath, Language, and Movement: a culturally rooted and trauma-informed Yoga for First Nations Women", which has laid a foundation for the growing initiative, the Indigenous Yoga Collective.

During the final stages of the research gathering phase, our FNWYI team and I planned a land-based celebration and retreat to celebrate our Cohort 1&2 learners’ accomplishments. The FNWYI advisory circle gathered to discuss the impacts and vision for the next steps of our work together. We documented our time together and created a short documentary film with the support of Carmen Pollard (editor) and Cody Preston (cinematographer).

About the film

A celebration of First Nations women and their communities who are brought together through their love of yoga, healing, and reclamation of ancestral languages and lifeways. Introducing the First Nations Women’s Yoga Initiative (FNWYI) collaborators who share a community wellness strategy that braids cultural and spiritual knowledge systems through a trauma-informed lens.
